Mac is pastor of FBC Dallas, TX…
A side note before he starts preaching…an awful lot of “Amens” from the stage…Don’t know what that means, just odd to hear.
2 Timothy 1
Paul served with a clear conscious. Then he comes with an intense personal instruction to his young pastor friend.
Remember the ministry God has called to you. Timothy has become timid and afraid. Something has caused that. Stir up the gift Timothy. Preach the word of God. “Stick to the Word”
You had better guard the preaching of the word as well as the ministry.
You were called to do more than master texts and tradition. You were called to a devotion to mission and ministry.
He wants to talk to us about our personal ministry to others and to each other.
Those who seem to be the most commited to ministry are often times the least concerned about doing it. (2 Tim 1:15; Act 19:10)
The ministry to who my ministry was done have now turned away from me.
A lot of “Let me tell you something”. For some reason this is really standing out at me…
Reads a lot from a script and uses a lot of Greek words. I’m honestly lost at what he’s saying at this point.
Here’s a minister who is pleading for someone to come and minister to himself. “We’ll hoop and holler and carry on politics”. But there are men coming to these conventions at the end of their rope.
Note: Both Brunson and Caner talked jokingly about taking crack…wierd.
We don’t have time for each other at these conventions because “you can’t pull power plays”. We need ministers who will minister to ministers.
Those who own the most to missions are the most like to be the least involved (2 tim 1:16)
Earnest Shackleton - greatest leader of all time. Gives a biography of him. Could lead men, but not his home. He was only successful when he was on mission. SBC is the just the same. When we have no mission we start messing with each other. Pastor’s, your life mission is your life mission.
We need to be going oversees to do missions.
Until you go on mission looking for someone you won’t find them. (personal interpretation - you have to be intentional about missions).
“You’re not going to find them sitting on your Blessed Assurance in your study” (Good line!)
Your ministry at home should never negate your ministry around the world.
