An awesome time…

Posted on 14 February 2006 by David Phillips

I’ve spent the last four days with a family member who’s just retired from 40 years of ministry. He and I have talked about so much in regard to my personal ministry and goals, the goals of our church, and the issues of ministry. It has been an absolute blast.

He and I also talked much about the current situation within the SBC. He’s on the executive board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, was a trustee at NOBTS in the 80’s and was at one time on the nominating committee of the SBC. He and I talked at length about motions, policies, issues of trust and how other entity leaders involve themselves in other entities. He made some very affirming comments towards me and those of our ilk, and some suggestions about bulding relationships with others in the convention. Great learning time and great time of personal reflection.

I’ll post more later in the week with some of his ministry ideas.
