Studying Baptism?

Posted on 07 March 2006 by David Phillips

In a couple of weeks I am going to the Delaware Beach and will be
taking a few days to do some theological reflection.  One item I
will be looking at is the issue of baptism.

I have the systematic theologies of the following scholars:

  • Dagg
  • Grudem
  • James Leo Garrett
  • Millard Erickson

If you were doing this type of study, what other sources outside of
the scriptures would you look at?  I appreciate your input.

Blessings…

  1. Joe Thorn Says:

Erroll Hulse “The Testimony of baptism”
Paul Jewett “Infant Baptism and the Covenant of Grace”
Fred Malone “The baptism of Disciples Alone”

The first is a straight on treatment of baptism, the other two come at it from a Covenantal perspective. All are credo, not paedo-baptist in perspective.
