Robert Webber passed on…

Posted on 29 April 2007 by David Phillips

You may have read about this; Robert Webber passed away on Friday. I first became aware of Dr. Webber through his book, The Younger Evangelicals. Since then I have read every book he has written. His “ancient-future” series was tremendous and has been very influential in my thinking.

I’ll miss your writings, Bob. Christianity lost a great man.

Man, I hadn’t heard. The Younger Evangelicals was the beginning of a string of influential books for me. He’ll be missed, for sure.

  2. Alan Cross Says:

We have lost a great man. I also read The Younger Evangelicals and Ancient Future Faith. I was always blessed that a man at that age would be able to speak so effectively to younger generations. His influence on me will not be forgotten.

I just got through reading, “Listening to the Beliefs of Emerging Churches: Five Perspectives” that he edited. I have The Younger Evangelicals on my shelf and was going to start reading it. What a blessing he was in his understanding of the younger generation of leaders.
