First, Oklahoma got beat by West Virginia last night in the Fiesta Bowl. I was completely shocked. What’s going on with Stoops loosing the last 4 BCS games? To my OU friends, I hate it for you. I really do.
Second, last night my wife and I were watching the new CBS game show, The Power of 10. One of the questions was, “What percentage of Americans say they have read the Bible through cover to cover.” The host, Drew Carey, revealed that he grew up in a Pentacostal Church. He also revealed that he still often reads his Bible, and spoke with intimate knowledge of the One Year Bible. He spoke the evangelical language, to the point that I wondered if he might attend worship from time to time.
Lastly, I was in my office this morning reading my Relevant Magazine and saw an article about Natasha Bedingfield. I saw her perform on the Today Show on NBC where she sang the song “Unwritten”. I got it on iTunes…it’s a really good song:
I am unwritten, can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
Anyway, she’s from England, grew up in Hillsong Londong Church, and started, with her brother, a Christian dance troupe. She’s got a new album coming out soon as well.
