Framing the Bible - Creation & Re-Creation

Posted on 11 August 2008 by David Phillips

<br />How does the Bible frame itself?  Beginning with Genesis and ending with Revelation, the Bible, in the form and order we have it, frames its message as creation and re-creation of the world.    The first two chapters describe the creation event, and the last two chapters in Revelation describe the re-creation event.

How does Western Christianity frame the scriptures?  The West has adopted the human-centered narrative and has accommodated the scriptures toward privatism.  Privatism is a preoccupation of God’s narrative for me.  It forgets the cosmic nature of of God’s narrative and results in a narcissistic faith.
