Great new song from U2’s album No Line On The Horizon. This is from the David Letterman show.
Magnificent Lyrics
Oh, magnificent
I was born
I was born to be with you
In this space and time
After that and ever after
I haven’t had a clue
Only to break rhyme
This foolishness can leave a heart
Black and blue
Only love
Only love can leave such a mark
But only love
Only love can heal such a scar
I was born
I was born to sing for you
I didn’t have a choice
But to lift you up
And sing whatever song you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb my first cry
It was a joyful noise
Oh, oh
Only love
Only love can leave such a mark
But only love
Only love can heal such a scar
Justified till we die
You and I will magnify
Oh, the magnificent
Magnificent
Only love
Only love can leave such a mark
But only love
Only love unites our hearts
Justified till we die
You and I will magnify
Oh, the magnificent
Magnificent
Magnificent

I loved this song because of its tight vocals, especially on the chorus!
And then there’s Rosanna!

And a couple of extra videos from Styx. First, The Best Of Times
And Finally, Mr. Roboto

Michael Card is one of the great theologians and musicians. His three albums on the Old Testament are some of the most incredible, theologically deep songs you will ever hear. With the inclusion of the 7-11 songs within Christian music (same 11 words sung 7 times) it is refreshing to get back to Michael’s music.
Michael has a one hour radio that airs weekly on many stations in the US. It is also done as a podcast and is available on iTunes. In the show, he stresses commentary (with a guest they discuss a passage of scripture), community and creativity. Interspersed in the show is some of Michael’s music. I would encourage you to check it out.
The one I just finished listening to had commentary and music with Steve Green and a discussion on creativity with one of my all-time favorite authors and preachers, Calvin Miller.
Again, the podcast can be found here.
