Ed Stetzer as Dan Kimball

Writing on his blog this morning, Ed Stetzer announces that Dan Kimball has called him out. About his hair. Kimball states,

I believe Ed would look fantastic in a rockabilly hair cut and I encourage him highly to take his hair to the next level.

Now I know Dan, he’s in my DMin cohort at George Fox Seminary. And I’ve met Ed a couple of times and like them both. So in the interest of friendship, hoping THEY can continue to get along, I’ve done a mock up of Ed with Dan’s rockabilly haircut. What do you think?

2008 Bad Girls of Conservatism Calendar

I love Steve Brown. He is a great preacher and a hoot to listen to. His staff puts out comedy bits every so often and this one is funny, I don’t care who you are.

The newest is called the 2008 Bad Girls of Conservatism Calendar. Here is the lead up:

Ann Coulter’s biggest Achilles Heel may not be her opinions, but rather her unapologetically unvarnished delivery. In the game of politics, where reshaping the definitions of words is part of the strategy, she simply refuses to play. In the end, we may learn that Coulter isn’t anti-Semitic, but anti-semantic.

Or maybe she really does hate the Jews. Who knows?

One thing is for sure, you can bank on the fact that she’ll say something inflammatory every time she comes out with a new book.

New Bob Jones Univ. radio ad

This is hilarious. One of my favorite preachers in the whole wide world is Steve Brown. He sounds like God. He’s got a new website and he’s doing some comedy bits. Today he’s released one about Bob Jones. Here’s what he says:

If you haven’t been keeping up with ‘The Jones’, BJU is an uber-conservative private college in Greenville, SC, established in 1927. Many unfounded rumors surround the school, but just the basic, undisputed facts are themselves laughable enough.

Exhibit A: BJU refused to enroll blacks until 1971 and until 2000 had rules forbidding interracial dating. Yikes. Talk about putting the ‘mental’ in ‘fundamentalist.’

The school has gradually been pulling its collective head from its collective rear (unofficial motto: “ladies not required to wear hats to church services since 1990!”), but I’m not sure their latest radio ad is going to help matters any.

Now for all you Bob Jones folks who might take me to task, relax…laugh a little! This is funny…
