The church must have an integration of missional, incarnational, relational, organic, and reproducing qualities and aspects. Failure to integrate each of these qualities is a failure to be a missional church.
Our emotions blend together a multitude of experiences. In doing so, we naturally have an experientially constructed theology. We understand life, and part of that understanding is our theology, in light of our experiences. Therefore, we have to conclude that objective theology, and an objective view of scripture is not possible this side of heaven; we develop our theology, generally through our experiences.
I am convinced that the trouble with the world today is that it does not believe in God. And much of our evangelism goes wrong because it starts with the Lord Jesus Christ. But you must start with God the Father, God the Creator, one whose glory fills the heavens, who is over all. With reverence I say that you cannot understand the Lord Jesus Christ, and indeed there is a sense in which there is no meaning to Him and to the message about Him, unless you start with God the Father.
The power of creativity. For some reason we think we lack it, but the truth is that is something that anyone can cultivate. It is both teachable and trackable. In a recent article in Scientific American Mind, three experts on creativity speak about powerful ways to unleash the creative self.
For quite some time, I've wondered why so many people can believe in God (or god) and yet we have such a strange disinterest in a relationship with Him. Experimental philosophy has given us clues.

However, this church is far from missional in either theology, thought or [...] Continue Reading

When we think of God, the metaphors we use to address him most often are metaphors that do not signal relationship. For instance, we call him Lord, God, master, ruler, creator. Those are all terms that do not indicate the relational nature of God. I agree with those metaphors, they are both valid, theologically correct and pertinent. But are they pertinent to a true Christ-Follower? Continue Reading
